Ray is a singer song writer based in Tokyo, Japan.
Lived in Australia in her early childhood, she began to take interest in music and the songs she remembered there still remains in her heart. Long before “words” were born, we connected with each other simply by “Voice”. Living in a place where “words” become a barrier, she believes that our “voice” itself is the key for human connection. Expressing through “songs and keeping in mind the beauty of Japanese and English sound holds, she hopes her voice becomes unforgettable for the listeners. She knows that “forget” and “bury” are the human nature. That’s why she wants something “unforgettable”

2007- First solo live “Himawari-no-hi vol.1”* at Kouendori Classics
* since vol.1, she continues her solo live once a year in the end of summer.
2010- Solo live Vol.5 in her birthplace Sapporo in JAMUSICA
2008- she became involved Vocally in a Christmas CD. First single “The Christmas song” released.
* in Christmas season she became a radio personality at FM Radio Niigata
2009- Performed at A grand Exposition for Yokohama`s 150th year, “Y150” Tomorrow Park Stage.
2012
- Her first leading musical short film “ Dream Notebook”, Screened and won best picture at “Skip City International D Cinema Festival 2012” (IDCF).
-Joined some of the recordings for Kenichiro Nishihara’s New project ESNO 1St album “Visionary”. (unprivate.jp/archives/90) (Release 2012.09.05)
-First collaboration photo book with Kenhirama “Ray of Summer” is on sale.
-Singing on ESNO’s track for J-WAVE “Happiness” and some jingles.
2013
-Joined with poetry readings and ESNO’s track on
“Sound Remedy ‒Folklove- mixed by Kenichiro Nishihara” (Release 06.12)
-Singing all the songs in Namy’s “Wedding lounge” (Release 06.19)
-Singing on ESNO’s 1st digital single side-B “Airy Batida (single ver.)” (07.24) *tied up with the KONAMI’s FOOTBALL ALLSTARS 2013.
2014
-Live performance at exhibition “Memorys of Moon” @NY Brooklyn OUCHI GALLERY
2015

Ray Akaike 1989年1月17日生まれ。好きな絵本はにじいろのさかな、趣味は、落語と銭湯です。
幼少時代をオーストラリアで過ごし、そこで覚えた数々のみんなのうたが今でも心に残っている。言葉が通じない異国でのコミュニケーション手段のひとつが歌であったことにグッときてからは、“わたしの声”というシンプルだが、唯一の持ち物で英語と日本語のそれぞれが持つ美しい響きを大切に、やさしいやさしい、歌がうたいたいと日々願っています。“声”そのものが音楽となりますように。
-18歳から音楽活動を開始、2009年は横浜開国博「Y150」LIVE出演、初主演短編ミュージカル映画「ユメのおと」がSKIPシティ国際Dシネマ映画祭2012（IDCF）短編映画部門最優秀賞を受賞。作詞とヴォーカルとして参加していたESNOでは1stアルバムVisionary以降J-WAVE(81.3FM)のジングルや番組メインテーマも歌い、2ndアルバム”Realease”まで参加。2014年には動物墨絵師佐藤周作氏のニューヨークで行われた個展のレセプションでライブパフォーマンスを披露。2017年には自宅のアップライトピアノをミュートして録音した”Dawn town” -DIY MUSIC COMPILATION Vol.1 TOKYO WONDERLAND にて発表。
2018年サンキュー！育休を挟み2022年クラウドファンディング(https://camp-fire.jp/projects/573161/view)110%でプロジェクトを達成して12月に子守唄のカバーアルバム「むすんでひらいて-Tresure and Bloom」をリリース。
その他ファッションブランドsupport surfaceのコレクションショーで4シーズン生演奏出演。近年では写真や絵画、展示会や朗読作品への作曲、楽曲提供もしている。ヴォイスを幾重も織りなす独特の世界観で作られた楽曲から、シンプルなメロディのうたまで、いつでも心がよろこぶ音楽を作っていたいです。古くから愛されてきた、その国の子供たちがみんなうたえるようなうたを今後作っていきたいと思っています。
